In 2001, I started playing the violin with my left hand in addition to my right. This inspired choice has allowed me to learn the violin a second time (from a different perspective) and has shown me how to teach it more effectively. Just recently I began to understand something I have done intuitively — the importance of elbow height for effectively controlling the bow, which has allowed me to spin more quickly and easily while playing left-handed.
